Undyed white Shetland single ply yarn, aran weight, 155 yards per skein, Canadian raised and spun
This beautiful, shiny white single ply yarn was sourced from purebred Shetland sheep raised at Home Farm in Duncan, B.C. This yarn is quite soft (my initial tests show it's next-to-skin soft, but I'll update that once I test it a bit more) but strong! I'd use this yarn for mitts, a wrap, or a blanket.
The sheep at Home Farm are raised for their fibre, and live on lush, green pastures in the Cowichan Valley. Home Farm fleeces are usually sold to local handspinners, but I was able to source a few last year before they were all sold. If you're a handspinner, I do have silver grey roving from this flock available in the "Fleece and Fibre" section of my shop. Shetland sheep are a conservation breed in Canada, the United States, and the British Isles.
This yarn was spun at Wellington Fibres in Elora, Ontario.
This yarn is undyed, but should you wish it dyed, please let me know and we can discuss costs and timelines.
