Undyed white Shetland single ply yarn, aran weight, 155 yards per skein, Canadian raised and spun
This beautiful, shiny white single ply yarn was sourced from purebred Shetland sheep raised at Home Farm in Duncan, B.C. This yarn is quite soft (my initial tests show it's next-to-skin soft, but I'll update that once I test it a bit more) but strong! I'd use this yarn for mitts, a wrap, or a blanket.
The sheep at Home Farm are raised for their fibre, and live on lush, green pastures in the Cowichan Valley. Home Farm fleeces are usually sold to local handspinners, but I was able to source a few last year before they were all sold. If you're a handspinner, I do have silver grey roving from this flock available in the "Fleece and Fibre" section of my shop. Shetland sheep are a conservation breed in Canada, the United States, and the British Isles.
This yarn was spun at Wellington Fibres in Elora, Ontario.
This yarn is undyed, but should you wish it dyed, please let me know and we can discuss costs and timelines.

Please know that due to the nature of hand-dyeing, colours may vary within a batch, so it's always best to alternate skeins for multiple-skein projects.
Care: For best results, hand wash in cool water, lay flat to dry.
Please note that while I have made every effort to reproduce the colour of this yarn accurately, the colour of the actual yarn may be different from what you see on your screen due to differences in screen colour callibration.
**Canadian purchasers**: Your yarn will arrive vaccum packed via letter mail, which saves on shipping costs. If you order more than three skeins, it will arrive in two separate envelopes. Once you unseal the vacuum pack, give the yarn a shake and it's ready to go!
**US and International purchasers**: Your yarn will be shipped via the most economical method, which is small package ground, which also happens to be a slow method without tracking. If you'd like your yarn quicker, please contact me and I'll quote you prices for faster shipping methods.
I make every attempt to represent the colours of my yarn accurately, but please know that monitors/screens and lighting conditions all present colour differently. If you have questions about colour, please do get in touch - I can provide more photos or details.
Please note: I consider one knot or join in a hank to be acceptable (it is more common to find knots in small batch/small mill or woolen spun yarns). Some of my small batch yarns are minimally processed, and may contain small bits of vegetable matter. If this is a concern, please do get in touch!
