This beautiful small batch yarn came from "Frederick", a Wensleydale wether who lives at Crow Hill Corriedales in Ontario. Wensleydale sheep are a longwool breed, known for their soft and lustrous fleeces. This fibre has a long staple (about 6 inches) and will spin up to a wonderfully shiny yarn.
Wensleydale sheep are a rare, heritage breed, and are on the endangered list with the Livestock Conservatory and the Rare Breeds Trust. Your purchase of thise beautiful yarn helps to ensure this heritage breed continues to be raised in Canada.
