Shropshire sheep are a Down breed, which means their wool is bouncy, elastic, and strong! It tends to be naturally resistent to felting, too, which is one of the reasons Down and Down-type breed sheep have fantastic wool for socks!
The wool for this yarn was sourced from a small flock of purebred Shropshires in the Okanagan, BC, and was spun at Wellington Fibres in Ontario, the same mill that makes our amazing Barn Swallow sock yarn!
