100% Canadian Tunis Roving (Lamb), sold in 100 gram bumps
What a lovely fibre! Tunis sheep are born a cinnamon brown and fade to white as they age. This roving is from lambs of the Comfort Tunis flock (Ontario), so it's a natural tan as the lambs still retained some of their colouring due to their age at shearing.
This fibre is relatively short staple (about 2") so will be best for woolen spinning. As it's an untreated product, there is some VM in the roving. However, it's soft and bouncy, and will yield a lovely naturally coloured yarn!
Sourced from Comfort Tunis in Ontario and processed at Mariposa Fibre Farm. The second photo shows what Comfort Tunis sheep look like.
I will have yarn available from this same flock in mid-May.
