“The Lilies” of the Barnston Island Flock, DK weight, 2 ply, semi-worsted, CVM cross
This small batch of yarn comes from "Daylily", "Tigerlily", and "Julia" of the Barnston Island flock. All three of these ewes are CVM x, resulting in a yarn that's soft, bouncy, and lofty. The yarn was spun at That Darn Yarn Mill in Kamloops, BC into a plump 2 ply DK weight, making this yarn a great choice for sweaters or hats. Since this was a small batch of yarn, Catherine has dyed three coordinating colourways, and it's also available in the natural, undyed cream colour.
As this yarn is a small batch, quantities are limited, so please ensure you purchase enough to complete your project.
The Barnston Island flock is located on Barnston Island, a small island in the Fraser River, not far from Surrey, B.C. This fibre flock is carefully and lovingly managed by Susan and John Russell, who raise their sheep with wool in mind and often bring home prizes from the Lower Mainland Wool n' Ewe Fleece auction. Both Daylily and Tigerlily have been prize winners in the past!
