Wassail Mitts Knitting Pattern
A fun little set of mitts to accompany you on your holiday adventures! The Wassail Mitts feature some lovely twisted cables that can be worked with or without a cable needle, and an arched gusset for a great fit. With these on your yarns, you can wassail all over town, no matter the weather!
The grey mittens are a size M and were worked in an undyed natural 100% Falklands Corriedale DK weight yarn (245 meters per 100 grams) that's available as part of the Sweet Paprika Beyond Merino club!

Sizes: S (M, L) to fit hand circumference 6 (7, 8)“/15 (18, 20) cm - measured around knuckles, not including thumb. These mitts are designed to fit with a small amount of negative ease.
Yarn Requirements
120 (140, 160) yards/110 (128, 146) metres of DK weight yarn.
Needles
- 3.5 mm (US 4) double point knitting needles
- 3.75 mm (US 5) double point knitting needles
Notions
- 3 st markers
- tapestry needle for weaving in ends
- waste yarn or small st holder
Gauge
1 X 1 ribbing: 32 sts and 32 rnds = 4 x 4” (10 x 10 cm) on 3.5 mm (US 4) knitting needles, lightly blocked.
Stockinette St: 24 sts and 34 rnds = 4 x 4” (10 x 10 cm) on 3.75 mm (US 5) knitting needles, lightly blocked.
